About

The creatures

We live in times of hybrid work, hybrid wars and soon we will probably see hybrids of man and machine. The New has already appeared, but the Old isn't gone yet. The ideas mix with each other and create new forms. So do characters from my painting series "The creatures, that live in a forest next to my mind". The beings from my deepest fantasies. It's hard to describe what they actually are. They live on the edge of the abstract and real worlds. They are rare. Friendly, aggresive, curious, lost. Sometimes so imperfect they disintegrate before the painting is done and they disappear. That's when I have to start all over again. You have to get rid of the noise of reality and overstimulation to see them. Simplify the forms and reject unnecessary colors. Limit the needless effects. Sometimes you can feel them before you can see them. Sometimes they stay in your mind long after they are gone. They won't hurt you. The will make you rethink your judgements. Let me take you on the journey through my forest to see them.
